Cops raid bar run by Bal Thackeray's grandson

Mumbai: Police on Wednesday raided a bar run by Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray's grandson Nihar in suburban Santacruz and arrested three staff members while detaining nine bar girls.
Four other staff members, including bar owner Nihar were, however, declared absconding.
Acting on a tip off, a raid was conducted on Sangeet Bar at 12:30 am following which the members - Ramesh Shetty, Harish Shetty and Arjun Shetty - were picked up, police said.

"As per rules, bar girls can serve the customers till 9:00 pm only. However, they were in the bar at the time of the raid and moreover, their behaviour was vulgar," said Madhukar Choudhary, Senior Inspector at Santacruz Police Station.
Nine bar girls were detained after the raid, he said.
All the accused have been booked under relevant sections of The Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act or PITA, he said, adding further probe was on.
Nihar is the son of Bal Thackeray's elder son Binda.
